Tamiya 1/48 Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15bis ‘Fagot’

Soviet Air Force, Soviet Union 1951

Tamiya’s MiG-15bis ‘Fagot’ is a really nice kit. I built it very quickly, so it should look a lot better than it does. No aftermarket stuff was used. The finish is Humbrol Metalcote Polished Aluminium with an oil wash over the top. The decals are from the kit and are very thin and extremely fragile — that’s why the fin flash looks tatty. The only problem I experienced was that the rear fuselage did not fit well over the jet engine, hence the massive gap between the front and rear fuselages. If I were to build this kit again I would omit the engine and make sure the fuselage halves joined up properly.
